Regional Learning Exchange on Gender Transformative Approaches: A Community We All Desire
Date & Time: 30 - 31st, October 2024, 2 PM - 5 PM EAT
Venue: Zoom
Facilitator: Sandra Quintero - Senior Gender Advisor, KIT Institute, Netherlands
Aligned with the RP4 Strategic Plan, this Regional Learning Exchange aims to foster gender-transformative approaches (GTAs) in land governance. The initiative will empower communities and policymakers across Africa to adopt equitable land rights practices, promoting women’s land rights (WLRs) as a key step toward a fairer, more resilient future. The exchange leverages the Stand For Her Land Campaign and collaborates with National Land Coalitions to advance the WLRs agenda through shared knowledge and integrated strategies.
Key Objectives:
- Integrate Gender Norm Transformation: Embed GTA in WLRs advocacy to challenge harmful social norms.
- Capacity Building: Equip platform members with strategies for applying GTAs in land rights initiatives.
- Networking and Collaboration: Offer an interactive platform for participants to share experiences, strategies, and learning insights.
Event Structure
Physical Engagements
Focus Group Discussions with selected National Land Coalitions will occur at the country level, providing an in-depth look at the perspectives and attitudes around gender and land rights among ILC members. Discussions will explore country-specific questions on GTA integration into WLRs.
