CENTRE POUR L'ENVIRONNEMENT ET LE DEVELOPPEMENT

Working towards these commitments

Respect, protect and strengthen the land rights of women and men living in poverty, ensuring that no one is deprived of the use and control of the land on which their well-being and human dignity depend, including through eviction, expulsion or exclusion, and with compulsory changes to tenure undertaken only in line with international law and standards on human rights.
1

Secure Tenure Rights

Mission

CED contributes to the protection of the rights, needs and culture of local and indigenous communities in Central African forests (Cameroon and Congo basin). They promote the sustainable management of natural resources based on an environmental justice perspective. More particularly, they try to reduce the environmental and social impacts of extractive industries in the region and promote indigenous and local communities participation in resource management to ensure long-term social, economic and environmental sustainability. These changes are not only promoted in practices at local level but also in natural resources policies at national level.
