Call for applications: Africa Youth Representative to the Global Youth Advisory Board

Position: Youth Representative (1 female) — Africa Region

Organisation: International Land Coalition (ILC)

Background

The International Land Coalition (ILC) recognizes the crucial role of young people in shaping sustainable futures. Youth are disproportionately affected by land-related challenges yet remain excluded from decision-making spaces.

To bridge this gap, ILC has invested in youth leadership through global and regional platforms, including the Global Land Forums Youth (GLFY) in Jordan (2022) and Colombia (2025). Building on the Ajloun Declaration, youth now hold formal spaces within ILC governance structures, with representatives supporting advocacy, inclusion, and people-centered land governance.

Each region, including Africa, is represented by two young delegates (one male, one female). This call seeks applications for one female youth representative to serve on the Global Youth Advisory Board.

Roles & Responsibilities

The selected representative will:

• Represent youth in ILC governance processes and committees.
• Strengthen communication between global and regional levels.
• Provide guidance and support to youth representatives.
• Amplify youth visibility in ILC advocacy and platforms.
• Monitor progress on youth-related action areas.
• Contribute to ILC initiatives, including GLFY, leadership programs, and research.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be a woman aged 18–35 years.
• Be a member of, or affiliated with, an ILC member organisation.
• Have at least one year of experience in land rights or governance.
• Demonstrate advocacy, organizing, research, or policy engagement skills.
• Be able to commit time for meetings and follow-up tasks.
• Possess good communication skills.

• 30 September 2025 – Notification of selected representative
